85 days
Simon Schmalhorst This collection of photographs documents the daily interactions of Simon Schmalhorst with a single piece of clay over the span of 85 days. Each day, a unique clay sculpture was crafted and photographed, beginning with 2.5 kg of clay and ending with 1.1 kg. Through continuous reuse and reshaping, the clay lost weight, absorbed external substances, and transformed into something new every day. The photographs are arranged chronologically, serving as a visual diary that mirrors the artist’s physical surroundings and social interactions. 88 pages, 9.8 × 14.6 cm, 83 grams quality printing on an hp indigo open thread-stitching http://simonschmalhorst.com
