Frequently asked questions
The app says “No access” and asks for a folder.
Apps from the App Store may only read files that you have chosen, dragged into the window or opened in the Finder. When you open a project, that is the project file, not the linked PDFs. “Grant Access…” gives the app access to the folder that holds the PDFs. The app remembers the folder and does not ask again for anything in it.
A PDF is marked as changed or is not found.
PDFs are linked, not embedded. In the “PDF Links” window, “Update” reads changed files again. If a file is in a different place, right-click its row and choose “Relink…”.
The back comes out upside down in print.
In the sidebar under “Experimental” you will find “Duplex flip” with “Long edge” and “Short edge”. The setting has to match the one of the printer.
The press sheet does not fit on any paper size.
The status bar gives the smallest selected paper size the press sheet fits on, or it warns. Which paper sizes are checked is set in Settings under “Paper Sizes”. The print PDF can be exported all the same.
Where is the print PDF?
When you export, the app asks for the location. What it suggests is set in Settings under “Advanced”: next to the project, in a subfolder there, or in a fixed folder.
How do I change the language?
In Settings under “General”, row “Language”. The change takes effect at the next launch. The app offers to restart right away.
How do I pass on a project?
Preferably the whole folder with the project file and the PDFs. The project then finds the PDFs by their position relative to the project file. The project file also contains the locations of the PDFs on your Mac.
