adapting to requirements
Felix Hofmann-Wissner
What appears to be labor might be ritual. What looks like construction could be dismantling. The gestures are precise. Their purpose has been forgotten or was never known.
These drawings record the moment after instruction and before completion—the interval where meaning dissolves into pure execution. Each figure, each creature, performs its designated task without protest or understanding. The apparatus neither promises nor threatens. It simply persists.
No one asks what the mechanisms produce. No one questions why the collaboration continues. The work exists because it exists. Stopping would require a decision, and decisions require remembered reasons.
